Professor Bubble is a bubble shooter game featuring an eccentric science-professor character who fires bubbles from a cannon at the bottom of the screen toward a descending cluster of colored bubbles above.
The game builds on the classic Puzzle Bobble / Bust-a-Move formula with a charming academic aesthetic — laboratory backgrounds, beaker-shaped bubble cannons, and scientific sound effects that give it personality beyond a generic bubble shooter.
Bubble shooters blend aiming skill with forward planning. Each shot must not only pop a matching group but also consider what lies beyond — a well-aimed bank shot off the wall might reach an otherwise inaccessible cluster, while a poorly considered shot blocks the path to a critical color.
Key Features:
- Progressive wave-based difficulty
- Bonus rounds and special events
- Classic retro-inspired design
- Instant browser play — no download needed
- Free to play on desktop and mobile
Getting Started:
Professor Bubble follows the classic bubble-shooter format:
- Survey the Cluster — Look at the arrangement of colored bubbles above. Identify groups of same-colored bubbles that are reachable.
- Check Your Current Bubble — The bubble loaded in the cannon is the one you will fire. Its color is displayed prominently. Your next bubble (in queue) is also visible — plan two shots ahead.
- Aim — Move your cursor left/right to aim the cannon at an angle. An aiming guide line or indicator may show the projected path including wall bounces.
- Fire — Click or press fire to launch. The bubble travels along the aimed trajectory, bouncing off side walls.
- Match Three or More — When your bubble lands adjacent to two or more same-colored bubbles, they all pop. Any bubbles they were solely supporting also fall.
- Bank Shots — Use wall bounces to reach areas that direct shots cannot access. Aim at the wall, and the bubble bounces to the intended target.
- Manage Ceiling Height — If the ceiling descends too far (usually after a set number of shots), you lose. Pop efficiently and avoid wasted shots.
- Bonus Mechanics: - Dangling cluster: popping a bubble that supported a large cluster drops the entire cluster for massive bonus points - Color bomb bubbles: match these with any color to remove all bubbles of that color from the board
Desktop Controls:
- Move mouse left/right — adjusts cannon angle continuously
- Left-click — fires the bubble
- Click the swap button — exchanges current bubble with the queued next bubble
Mobile Controls:
- Touch and drag — aims cannon toward touch position
- Release — fires (in drag-and-release versions)
- Tap — fires toward tapped position (in tap-to-aim versions)
Pro Tip: Bubble Swap: - The swap button exchanges the current bubble with the upcoming bubble in queue.
Tips for Beginners:
- Professor Bubble rewards strategic planning and efficient use of each shot.
- Cluster Analysis: - Before firing, identify which pop would remove the most bubbles.
Advanced Strategies:
- Color Management: - When a color appears in only one isolated cluster, prioritize eliminating it.
- Wall Bounce Mastery: - Wall bounces allow access to clusters along the sides or behind other bubbles.
High-Score Tip: Queue Management: - Always plan two shots ahead using the current bubble and the queued bubble.
Professor Bubble requires sharp aim and strategic color matching. Always look for clusters of bubbles that are attached by a single pivot point—striking that weak link will cause the entire cluster to fall, saving you valuable shots. Bank your shots off the side walls to reach tricky angles that a direct line of sight cannot hit. Pay attention to the next bubble in your queue so you can plan two moves ahead, and prioritize clearing space at the bottom to prevent the board from overwhelming you.
