Quick Dice is a fast-paced dice strategy game that combines the luck of rolling with the decision-making depth of selecting which results to keep and which to re-roll.
The game draws from the Yahtzee family of dice games — one of the most enduringly popular formats in tabletop gaming because it achieves a genuine balance between luck and skill.
Each turn provides up to three rolls. After the first roll, you lock the dice showing useful values and re-roll the rest. After the second roll, you apply the same process.
Key Features:
- Multiplayer support
- 3D visual presentation
- Strategic depth and planning
- Instant browser play — no download needed
- Free to play on desktop and mobile
Getting Started:
Quick Dice follows the classic multiple-roll dice format:
- Roll All Dice — Click "Roll" to throw all five dice. Random values from 1–6 appear on each die.
- Lock Valuable Dice — Click any dice showing values you want to keep. Locked dice are held out of subsequent rolls (visually indicated as "held").
- Re-Roll Remaining — Click "Roll" again. Only unlocked dice re-roll; held dice retain their values. You may lock different dice after this second roll.
- Final Roll or Hold — After the second roll, you may re-roll unlocked dice one final time (third roll). After the third roll, all dice values are final.
- Score a Category — Select a scoring category from the scorecard that matches your dice combination. Each category can only be used once. Assign the roll to any valid category.
- Track the Scorecard — After all categories are filled across multiple turns, total scores are calculated. The player with the highest total wins.
- Numbers (1–6): score the sum of all matching dice values
- Three of a Kind: sum of all dice if three or more match
- Four of a Kind: sum of all dice if four or more match
- Full House: three of one kind, two of another — fixed score
Desktop Controls:
- Left-click a die — toggles its "held" status (held dice do not re-roll)
- Click "Roll" — rolls all unheld dice
- Click a scoring category — assigns the current roll to that category (irreversible)
- Click "New Game" — resets the scorecard for a fresh game
Mobile Controls:
- Tap a die — holds or releases it
- Tap "Roll" — initiates the roll
- Tap a score category row — assigns the current hand to that category
Pro Tip: Decision Timing: - There is no timer — take all the time you need to evaluate your hold decisions and category selection - Category assignment is permanent — double-check before clicking the category row
Tips for Beginners:
- Quick Dice rewards systematic category management and understanding roll probabilities.
- Category Priority: - Complete the upper section (ones through sixes) efficiently to earn the 35-point bonus for scoring 63 or more in those categories combined - Target Yahtzee (five of a kind) early — if you roll three matching dice on the first roll, always hold all three and re-roll for the fourth and fifth - Large Straight (five sequential dice) is difficult — pursue it when your first roll already shows four sequential values
Advanced Strategies:
- Probability Thinking: - With two dice left to roll, the probability of rolling any specific value is about 1 in 6 per die.
- Category Management: - Avoid leaving the Yahtzee category for late in the game when filling it becomes harder.
High-Score Tip: - Scan all unfilled categories before each roll — know which ones you need to fill and target your dice holding strategy accordingly - A strong player plans three turns ahead, tracking which categories remain and which dice configurations will fill them efficiently
